WHALE BONE - PLIOCENE, RED CRAG, SUFFOLK.
Whale - indeterminate.
Very strange looking heavily mineralised bone. One surface shows a series of parallel grooves and ridges. Most likely part of the skull from a whale but it might be from a vertebra or the shoulder / pelvic girdle bones. really weird looking bone altogether.
Pliocene, Red Crag.
Bawdsey, Cliffs, Suffolk.
Bone : 10.5 x 7 x 4 cm.
