Plesiosaurus dolichodeirus Conybeare 1824
A waterworn distal end of one of the propodials of a Plesiosaur. Almost certainly the femur rather than the humerus. Although waterworn the shape of the bone is very distinctive. Plesiosaur remains from the Somerset coast are rare finds. From an old collection.
Jurassic, Lower Lias, Hettangian / lower Sinemurian.
