Turitella terebralis Lamarck.

Matrix free high spired Gastropod. The shell all along one side is criss-crossed with feeding trails. Towards the apex there is an elliptical area of the shell which has been eaten away by a predator. Could be a Starfish. Interesting.

Miocene, Burdigalian.
Gironde, Bordeaux Basin, France.

Gastropod : 10.5 cm. long.
