Severnichthys acuminatus Agassiz.

Part of the lower jaw of a big predatory fish from the Rhaetic Bone Bed at Aust Cliff. Shows the base of a large robust tooth, which shows very strong ridges. This type of tooth has been named as 'Saurichthys longidens' variety. Jaw sections with teeth are not common at Aust.

Triassic, Rhaetic Bone Bed, Penarth Group, Westbury Formation.
Aust Cliff, River Severn, Avon.

Specimen: 6.5 cm. long.
