Alethopteris serli Brongniart.
Hand sized slab found in 1987. Both surfaces show mature seed fern fronds. One surface has 3 much smaller immature / young pinnules. Most probably from the same species.
Upper Carboniferous Westphalian D, Farrington Formation.
Writhlington Colliery Tip, Radstock, Somerset.
Specimen : 18 x 11 cm.
