SEAFLOOR CRINOID DEBRIS - JURASSIC, GLOUCESTERSHIRE.
Isocrinus psilonoti Quenstedt 1858.
Large slab of grey limestone with a flat cut base. The upper surface is covered in 3D crinoid stems. Some still attached others just ossicles. Together with scattered fragments of bivalves. This arrangement is typical of debris left on the sea floor after a high energy episode (storm )has ripped into a crinoid forest on the sea bed scattering bits and pieces in all directions.
