Rebbachiosaurus garabae Lavocet 1954.

Matrix free beautifully preserved tooth from a Sauropod. These giant herbivores ate tough vegetation. The peg like teeth at the very front of the skull were used to bite and nibble off the plant material and so often show signs of chisel like wear at the tip ( as in this instance). a 'beauty'.

Cretaceous, Albian / Cenomanian, Tegana Formation.

Hamada du Guir, Kem Kem Basin, south of Taouz, Morocco.

Tooth : 3.8 cm long.
