PROMICROCERAS SHOWING 'BITE' MARK - LOWER LIAS, LYME REGIS
Promicroceras planicosta J Sowerby
Palm sized piece of matrix with a 3D calcitic Promicroceras. Along one edge is in elliptical 'bite' where the shell is missing. These are now confirmed as bite marks - probably from a predatory fish! An excellent example.
