Otodus (Megaselachus) megalodon.

Beautifully preserved tooth from a giant extinct shark. The tooth is very mottled - greys and black. Both edges of the blade show strong serrations. Towards the top of the blade on one edge is a 'notch' This is caused by the shark biting its own teeth during a feeding frenzy. A really beautiful tooth. Quality.

Miocene, Pungo River Marl Formation.
Aurora, Beaufort County, North Carolina, USA.
