Carcharocles megalodon (now called Otodus megalodon ).

Tooth from an extinct giant shark. The tooth has a very mottled appearance with shades of cream and grey mixed up. The serrations have been worn down as the tooth has been rolled around. Really unusual colour.

Miocene / Pliocene.
Venice Beach, Florida, U.S.A.

Tooth : 4.2cm. high.
