MASS OF SHRIMPS - CRETACEOUS, LEBANON.
Carpopenaeus septemspinatus (Dames. 1886).
Square 'tile' of buff limestone. Upper surface shows a group of 6 individual shrimps all accumulated together. Two of the shrimps are absolutely complete. The other 4 are partials. These shrimps were probably swept together after death by currents on the sea floor. Nice example.
Cretaceous, Cenomanian / Turonian. Hgula near Beirut, Lebanon.
Matrix : 8 x 8 x 1.2 cm.
