PLESIOSAUR / PLIOSAUR INDET.

Complete caudal vertebra from a large predatory marine reptile. Impossible to say if it from a Pliosaur or a Plesiosaur. Outer edge with an epifauna of small sponges and Bryozoan colonies. Lovely detail under magnification. Unusual. 

Jurassic, Kimmeridgian, Re-worked into overlying Cretaceous, Aptian, Faringdon Sponge Beds.
Wicklesham Pit, Faringdon, Oxfordshire.
