MAMMALIAN COPROLITE. POSSIBLY MANATEE - PLEISTOCENE, FLORIDA.
Mammalian coprolite - possibly from a Manatee.
Palm sized matrix free coprolite. There is no evidence of any bone fragments in the coprolite so most likely from a plant eating aquatic mammal such as a Manatee. (Trichechus sp.) Manatees were large animals and were very common in the warm gulf waters at this time. Really impressive specimen.
Pleistocene. Polk Phosphates.
Withlacoochee River, Florida. U.S.A.
