Parkinsonnia rarecostata (Buckman, 1889)
One of the most attractive of all the Inferior Oolite Ammonites due to the numerous sharp closely spaced ribs. This is a particularly fine large example. Matrix free on one side and to the protoconch it makes for a stunning display specimen. Good enough for any Museum. They really don't come much better than this for this species. Found over 30 years ago.
Jurassic, Bajocian, Parkinsoni Zone.
Burton Bradstock, Dorset.
Ammonite : 14.5 cm diam.
