Lyell is often referred to as 'the Father of Geology'. He was the foremost promoter of the new science of Geology. Charles Darwin took a copy of Lyell's Principles of Geology with him on his voyage around the World and it heavily influenced his ideas on evolution. This is probably Lyell's second most famous book. 655 pages with 717 illustrations, the majority of which are of fossils.
Cloth bound. Some tears along the spine and a tiny bit of foxing otherwise in very good condition.
