ICHTHYOSAUR VERTEBRA IN NODULE - JURASSIC, YORKSHIRE.
Stenopterygius sp.
Complete Ichthyosaur vertebra in a split nodule found on the beach. Several different Ichthyosaurs are recorded from the Upper Lias of the Yorkshire coast. On size this is most likely to be from a species of Stenopterygius. The only other likely candidate is a Eurhinosaurus.
Jurassic. Toarcian, Alum Shales.
Kettleness, Yorkshire.
