Harpoceras falciferum (Sowerby)
Fine well preserved Ammonite. To centre one side and showing nice sutures. Of particular note are 2 puncture wounds near the start of the outer whorl. The teeth marks are 1 cm apart. Several predators could have been responsible including fish, crocodile, Ichthyosaur or Plesiosaur. One of the best examples of evidence of predation on an Ammonite I have seen in a long time.
Jurassic, Toarcian, 'Junction Beds'.
