Barasaurus besairei Piveteau 1955.
Split nodule. On the inside is a virtually complete articulated reptile. The skull has drifted of. Full vertebral column right down to the tail. Pectoral and pelvic girdles plus all the ribs. All four limbs are showing except for the feet. Barasaurus lived in freshwater lakes and rivers and would have fed on fish. if this skeleton was totally complete it would be twice the price.
Late Permian, Lopingian Epoch, Lower Sakemara Formation.
Fianarantsoa, Morondava Basin, Madagascar.
Nodule : 18 cm long.
