Odontopteryx cf. gigas

Top end of the femur from a giant bony toothed bird. lying next to it is a tooth from a Lamnid shark. The bone is damaged at both ends but it still very big and impressive. Fossil bird bones are rare in the fossil record.

Palaeocene Period., Phosphates de Khouribga.
Ouled Zem, Morocco.

Bone : 19.2 cm. long.
