Eurypterus remipes Dekay 1825;

Hand sized slab of a dolomitic siltstone. One surface plastered in Eurypterid remains from at least three different individuals. At one end is an adult 'moult'. It shows the cephalothorax with both compound eyes. The left paddle limb is still attached as are the first four tergites of the body. To the left of this are 6 incomplete tergites from a second adult. Along the bottom edge are a number of body parts. These include the coxa (upper part of a limb) and the' hand- like' termination of one of the chelicera (walking / feeding appendages).Right next to this are  a number of tapering rear tergites from a different species of Eurypterid. The most likely candidate is the small rare Eurypterid, Hughmillaria socialis Sarle, 1903. A really interesting an unusual slab.
