Hypelosaurus priscus Matheron.
4 pieces of eggshell from a Sauropod. The shell is extremely thin for a large egg. The thinness of the shell may have resulted in the embryos being overheated and the eggs being infertile. This would have contributed to the eventual demise of these giants at the close of the Cretaceous.
Very late Cretaceous - upper Maastrichtian.
Bouches -du-Rhone, Aix-en-Provence, France.
Longest piece 2.6 cm long.
