Goniochele angulata  (Bell.)

Goniochele angulata is a very distinctive looking crab with a high front edge. It is nowhere near as common as some of the other London Clay crabs. This specimen shows fragments of 6 legs. The middle of the top surface of the crab has been eaten away by a predator. This could have been another crab, a predatory Starfish or a predatory sponge. Unusual .

Eocene, Sparnacian, London Clay.
