Carcharocles megalodon

Fine complete tooth of an extinct giant shark. The blade shows serrations along both edges. As the tooth has lain on the sea bed a coral has grown on it. Nice old and new association.

Miocene Period.
Aurora, Beaufort County, North Carolina, U.S.A.

Tooth :  9.8 cm. high.
