Melanogrammus conjunctus. Gaemers & Schwarzhans 1973.

These strange shaped bone are known as' little legs' by the local collectors. They are actually the cleithra or clavicle bones from a type of Cod. They all have a condition known as hyperostosis whereby the bone is abnormally thick end. Wierd !

Pliocene Period, Lillo Formation, Kruisschans Member.
