Ursus spelaeus Rosenmuller & Heinroth 1784.
Virtually complete ulna from an adult Cave Bear. While one surface shows good surface preservation the other appears to be extensively 'eroded'. This could be the result of weathering by groundwater action within the cave or it may represent the result of some sort of predation of the bone post mortem. From a cave famous of its Cave Bear finds.
Pleistocene, Devensian.
Buco del Piombo, Como, Northern Italy.
Bone : approx 20 cm long
