Waterstonella grantonensis Schram 1979 & Craganopsis socialis Salter 1861.
Slab of dark grey limestone. Top surface plastered with at least 100 complete brine shrimps preserved in white flour apatite. Nice detail under magnification. Unique fossils at this one locality. It was from Granton Harbour that the first complete 'Conodont' animal was first described. From the collection of the late Professor G. Walkden of Aberdeen University. Collected way back in the late 1970's. when the site was still accessible. Since then it has been designated an SSSI with all collecting prohibited. Impossible to obtain Granton Harbour shrimps except from old collection pieces.
