Equus bressanus.

The so called 'Caballine' Horses were huge animals as big as any modern day carthorse. Equus bressanus was an early form characteristic of the Villafranchian.  A complete lower molar still embedded in the jaw bone either side of the tooth. Rare to be offered this material.

Lower Pleistocene, middle Villafranchian.
Beremend, Villany Mountains, Hungary.

Specimen : 10 x 4.5 x 2.5 cm.
