Carpopenaeus septemspinatus (Dames 1886).
Complete shrimp on buff limestone matrix. The entire shrimp appears to be preserved in black Pyroluscite. I have seen fish from the Lebanon with a 'halo' of Pyroluscite around the outline but never a shrimp totally covered in it. Very unusual preservation for this particular deposit.
Cretaceous, Cenomanian / Turonian.
Haqil, Lebanon.
Shrimp : 4 cm. long.
