Pentacrinites fossilis Blumenbach
Hand sized slab of the famous 'Pentacrinite' Bed from Charmouth. One entire surface plastered in 3D beautifully preserved remains of several Crinoids. Comprises numerous stems, columnals, arm sections and pinnules. For such a mass of Crinoid remains to end up like this must have been the result of a catastrophic event sweeping through the crinoid forest on the sea bed. These big slabs are now getting more and more difficult to obtain. Fantastic detail under magnification. Superb.
