The thin horizon known as the Epophioceras Bed is only rarely exposed on Black Ven, This specimen comes from a fall back in the early 1980's. Shows a beautifully preserved Ammonite developed right to the centre.. With Conifer driftwood, Pagiophyllum sp.
Jurassic, Upper Sinemurian, Obtusum Zone.
Black Ven, Charmouth / Lyme Regis, Dorset.
Ammonite : 2 cm diam.
