BADGER LOWER JAW WITH 4 TEETH - PLEISTOCENE, POLAND.

Meles meles Linnaeus.

The lower right jaw of an Ice Age Badger with 4 pristine teeth in position. In beautiful condition. Found in a cave deposit. Badgers live in sets that they have burrowed into the ground. They are not cave dwellers. This jaw has either been brought into the cave by a carnivore or it has washed in. Badger remains from Polish Cave deposits are incredibly rare. This is the first time I have had one for sale in 40 years in the fossil business.

Late Pleistocene, late Devensian.

Jerzmancwice (Tomaszowki Cave), Krakow district, Poland.

Jaw : 7 cm long.
