Promicroceras planicosta (Sowerby)
Long slab of grey limestone. On one surface are 4 beautifully preserved 3D calcitic Ammonites. Two of the ammonites have a section of the outer whorl missing on an otherwise perfect shell. These have been written up as bite marks from a predator (fish or shark).
Jurassic, Upper Sinemurian, Obtusum Zone.
Black Ven, Charmouth, Dorset.
Specimen : 15.5 x 7 x 2 cm.
