Osteolepis macrolepidotus Agassiz
A fine complete example of this early fish. This type had modified fin supports and was ancestral in the evolution of Amphibians. Full covering of black shiny scales and with all the fins showing and erect. Lovely detail under magnification. A ‘classic’ Scottish Fish. From a collection made in the very early 1970’S
